Paint by Karli

Our good friend Karli has a talent for painting. My wife asked her to come down and paint the baby's room. After her and Karli threw around some ideas, they ended up developing what the final product came to be. We thank her for the great job she did and we'll be holding onto the paint for her. Something she asked us to do for when she starts her own family in the near future. =)

Down on the Farm

This past weekend, my wife and I had a wedding up in Wisconsin. A beautiful wedding; very laid back and easy going. It was great to see Damian, a long time friend of mine, finally meet someone to spend the rest of his life. And it was nice to finally see someone be able to put up with him for the rest of his life. =P

Jackie and I are looking forward to seeing them in the near future as we all found out that the drive is much shorter than previously expected (6 hours as opposed to 8-10 hrs).

Pics from Saturday's Wedding

I was in a friend's wedding over the weekend pulling double duty as both a groomsman and assisting and playing in the big band for the reception. A great time for everyone! A very personal wedding for the bride and groom, the big band sounded great, and the open bar was enjoyed by all. Just some pics to share from that day and night.

A gig within a wedding

I have a friends wedding coming up next weekend and I'm doing double duty. A groomsman during the actual ceremony and entering the reception, then playing in the big band during the reception. Should be a lot of fun as it is going to end up being EIU Alumni Get-Together v2. Here is the proposed rough outline set list for that night. Should be fun. A few other tunes for the first dance, vocals and a few things from a friend are incoming.

Jon Siddle's Posterous

What you have stumbled upon is the random brain activity that takes the form of a guy who does IT/computer work during the day and is a freelance trombonist in the evenings.

You may not understand the brevity of what you could be getting into in reading this blog. Do you really want to listen to the ramblings of someone who has to deal with people's computer/printer/internet problems all day? And everyone knows what they say about trombone players...

You may find the random thoughts venture toward cigar reviews, writing, music, anything and everything Apple, productivity (or the lack thereof), South Park...the list could go on. You've been warned...
